 Why it is prescribed: it is a potent sulphonyl urea with a strong action.it stimulates the insulin secreation from pancreatic beta cells.

 When it is to be taken: initially start with 1 mg once daily.Titration of dodse is carried out as follows.1mg-6mg at interval of 1-2 weeks.Should be taken before the first meal.

 How it should be taken: It comes as 1,2 3 and 4 mg tablets.

 Special Instruction :

 Side Effects : hypoglycemia,temporary visual impairement and GI disturbances.

 Other Precautions : Contrindicated in the case of pregnancy and lactation.may be used with caution in the case of olda age.
